We're a Family Owned Cafe
Acacia Café, once known as “Innis Café,” is more than just a place to eat; it is a sanctuary of history, flavors, and traditions, lovingly crafted for students, academic staff, and the local community.
Located in the charming refectory of Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto, this family-run café has been a beloved gem in the heart of the Annex for over 20 years, celebrated for its warm and welcoming service.
As a family-run establishment, Acacia Café takes pride in offering personalized, heartfelt service and a diverse menu that caters to every palate. From freshly squeezed juices and crisp salads to the unique “Mexicasa” selection, each dish is crafted to bring joy and nourishment to every customer.
At Acacia Café, the menu is a tapestry of global inspirations, A Global Culinary Journey weaving together the vibrant flavors of Mexican, American, and Turkish cuisines.
The Essence of Acacia
Damon, one of the passionate owners, is dedicated to preparing every dish in-house, ensuring that students can savor healthy and affordable meals while they chase their dreams.
Ali and Gunash Shahidi, the heart and soul behind Acacia Café, chose the name “Acacia” with deep thought and intention. The acacia tree, known for its resilience in the Middle East, holds a special place in their hearts.
Gunash discovered that its wood was used in the Bible to build sacred places of worship, and in Iran, the tree is revered for its deep roots that nurture a thriving ecosystem. The name Acacia embodies strength, rootedness, and the power to sustain and grow—values that resonate in every corner of the café.
Acacia Café invites you to be part of its story, where tradition meets innovation and every bite reflects our commitment to the community.
